Our attention has been drawn to news making the rounds in Nigerian dailies and blogs that the late Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, died of COVID-19 complications in our Lagos Island facility. While we sympathize with the family members of the deceased and the Onigbogbo LCDA, we wish to categorically state that;
- St. Nicholas Hospital currently does not manage patients with COVID-19.
- The patient was not admitted in our facility.
The wellbeing of our patients and clients remains valuable to us at St. Nicholas Hospital and we would not compromise their safety.
We acknowledge that this is a time of fear and confusion for many Nigerians, an atmosphere that is ripe for the proliferation of rumor and falsehood, but we assure the members of the public that as we have done for the last 52 years, St. Nicholas Hospital will continue to work in an ethical and transparent manner, for the benefit of all.
Any official public statement regarding new developments of public concern will be published via our media platforms online. Likewise, any official public statement regarding licenses issued to St. Nicholas hospital for treating patients with COVID-19 will be published online and/or local media sources by the official spokesperson.
As always, St. Nicholas Hospital remains committed to the delivery of quality healthcare to a global standard based on transparency and ethical compliance.
Please continue to follow government guidelines on staying safe, and look to official channels for any information as regards the COVID-19 situation in your community. We will get through this period, as with other trials we have faced.
